This week’s guest on the podcast is Nako Mbelle, who runs global recruitment boutique Fintech Recruiters, serving the financial technology market. She works with Fintech 100 clients in the US, Canada, France, Germany, the UK, Hong Kong and Singapore.
I invited Nako onto the show to talk about how top companies are identifying and hiring top talent in the fintech, and even more specific, the cryptocurrency market. We discuss what motivates employees in the space, and the type of packages firms are putting together to lure recruits.
“Demand is very much outstripping supply, and what I suggest to anyone listening to this podcast: If you’re really interested in pivoting in any way in your career, I highly recommend going to a meet-up in whichever city you are – a blockchain or Ethereum meet-up (I think Ethereum is just going to explode).”
“Not everybody writes books and not everybody writes articles, but we all know how to write,” she says. “I think that’s what’s going to happen – I think everyone will literally know how to code to some extent … it’s just that there will be specialists who do it really, really well. Others will interpret it at a fundamental level, and I think that’s where the market is going. I think coding will be literacy.”
You can listen to more episodes of the Tearsheet Podcast, and other fintech shows, on the BankNXT podcast page. Enjoy!
